What is it?
The online resource is based on a database of provision for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. It holds information on courses and activities.
As of the 11th May 2011, the online resource contained information on 170 providers & 1420 courses and activities.
We have restricted the content to courses and activities for young people who need a specific level of support for their personal and social development. We have assumed that those young people with disabilities who are capable of progressing to level 3 and above will be able to access the huge volume of information contained elsewhere on the web.
At present the online resource has a local focus on the North London area. It also contains information on many London and national providers since some of the young people we support are placed in independent specialist provision across England, Wales and Scotland.
We are continuing to collect additional information from stakeholders and intend to expand the online resource to cover the whole of London and beyond. The development phase ends on 30th June 2011 and the next phase will depend on what support we receive from stakeholders and sponsors to continue this work into the future.
