Who carries out the assessment?
The assessment will be carried out by a team of 3-5 young people who have completed an accredited training course in order to become a Youth Mark Assessor.
The assessment team carry out observations and conduct interviews with staff and service users. This is done as unobtrusively as possible. The collection of evidence usually takes four or five days. It culminates in a feedback report and presentation of the findings from the Youth Mark Assessment.
The assessors work to a code of conduct that has been developed to safeguard young people in the project and ensure high standards of behaviour and objectivity. All assessors are required to sign the code of conduct when joining Youth Mark.
The Youth Mark assessment team will be supported by a Youth Mark staff member.
